A poet by education and sensibility (she has degrees from the University of California Santa Barbara, University of Southern California and Colorado State – though she considers that information mined from a world long-ago and far-far away), she one day decided to turn a poem into a column and, with the help of a supportive and patient features editor (Maggie Hall Walsh), Grace Notes was born.  She has lived in Colorado since 1987, but is a third generation Californian and the bulk of her family still resides in the north of the state.  She has two sons and she and her husband live with them in Fort Collins, Colorado.
